I curled up under your evisceration of O'Doul's beverage. You would make a great columnist. Assuming he has one. My parents still live on S------Street. H----- is a wonderful and beautiful town. What is not beautiful is the amount of trash being thrown into wooded areas.
Whenever I visit my parents - which is often - I take a trash bag and collect garbage in the small wooded area next to their home. For years I have collected a steady amount of beer bottles and cans, small liquor bottles, plastic cups from fast food outlets and general trash. It is disheartening, and the amount only gets worse.
This past visit I collected a whole new category of disgusting trash. Fifteen bags of dog poop. That’s right: someone (or several someones) had gone to the trouble of carrying bags (blue newspaper bags ) while taking their pet for a walk, then bending down to scoop up the droppings, carefully knotting the bag, and then – I just do not understand this impulse – either throwing it into the woods while on their walk down the street, or putting it in their car after their walk, and then throwing it out the car window into the woods.
It is revolting, and it is wrong. And these litterers give a bad name to all considerate pet owners.
So please readers: think about it before you throw your trash – any trash – into these woods. They are not a town dumping ground. We love the woods.
Please be considerate.
Sincerely.."
I never received a response from the newspaper, nor was my letter ever published (to the great dismay of my Dad - who thought my letter brilliant!)Pondhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07586923322493180578noreply@blogger.com
