A brief environmental update

The following are all endangered in Massachusetts:

The meta-population of marbled salamanders in Mansfield,

the Blanding’s turtles of Rattlesnake Hill,

and the Blue-spotted salamanders in the Hockomock Swamp.

But not the Rock Snot. That is thriving.

I have always wondered what that stuff was called. Thank you! Also, what is a meta-population?
Happy travels to you. See you round the PWC.
